If you have $ 2.95 million more (and who does not?), The remains of a baby Tyrannosaurus rex could be yours.
An eBay listing for the 15-foot body and the 21-inch skull of a young T. rex attracts attention because, well, when did you last see a dinosaur online?
According to the Lawrence Journal-World, T. rex belongs to Alan Detrich and was exhibited at the Natural History Museum of the University of Kansas. The university removed the bones from the display after the publication of the list.
Detrich did not immediately respond to a request for comment, but in a tweet of April 10 "Today, I will be taking out my T-Rex fossil 4 years old, 68 million years old and exhibited at the museum for two years … Your welcome."
In a statement posted on Twitter, the museum asked to clarify that it was not involved in the sale, stating that "the specimen exhibited was removed from the exhibition and that it was not. it is returned to the owner and we asked him to withdraw any association with us from his sale. "
Until now, no one has bid on the bones, although about 774 people are watching the auction so far. eBay did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

In a letter dated April 12, the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology expressed ethical concerns about the sale.

"Because vertebrate fossils are rare, most of them uniquely contribute to our knowledge of the history of life, each of which, lost public trust, makes part of this already fragmentary story that we will never find collectively, "says the letter.
