SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man from Somerset who wishes to remain anonymous has hit the nail on the head while playing the Kentucky Lottery Keno game.
After purchasing a ticket earlier this month, he earned $ 130,030.
On August 6, he stopped at Slate Branch Super One Stop in Somerset to purchase his Keno ticket. He chose to play an eight point bet for 15 designs costing him $ 5 per design. In addition to his Keno bet, he also chose to play the Multiplier and Bulls-Eye features each for an additional $ 5 per draw, according to the Kentucky State Lottery.
He asked the terminal to choose the numbers for him (Quick Pick).
Keno drawings are every four minutes. He didn’t see the winning numbers when they were drawn, so before leaving the store, he scanned his ticket to see if he had won.
“It was there,” he said, as he saw $ 130,030 appear on the automatic ticket checker.
“I was excited. My adrenaline went up and I was shaking, ”he told lottery officials, according to a lottery statement.
It turns out he matched his eight numbers in the second draw (draw 828481), winning the Keno prize of $ 50,000. Number eight in the drawing was selected as the Bulls-Eye and therefore won an additional $ 80,000. He won $ 30 other games on his ticket.
The man from Pulaski County drove to the lottery headquarters on August 12 where he walked away with an after-tax check for $ 92,321.
He told lottery officials that he plans to invest the winnings in his children’s college education.
Slate Branch Super One Stop will receive a bonus of $ 1,300 for the sale of the winning ticket.
