The company has changed its name for the third time since October.

A Playstation 5 The custom facade seller is back after being threatened with legal action by Sony.

As reported by VGC, the company – now known as CMP Shells – relaunched on Monday, January 18. The company is still selling black shells for the PlayStation 5, which cost $ 49.99 and will apparently arrive with customers in late February.

On his product page for the PS5 cases, CMP mentions the fact that he had already been threatened with legal action.

“The patent is pending and all sales finalized before approval are untouchable,” the company wrote.

“We didn’t know before. Now we do. Additionally, we haven’t duplicated anyone’s proprietary design. Our cases improve on the original by allowing more ventilation. We will be able to sell even after the patent has been approved. “

This is the third company name change since October of last year; it was originally known as PlateStation5.com, before Sony complained that the name was too similar to its PlayStation brand. The company then became CustomizeMyPlates.com, but Sony has always insisted that the devices it produced violated its PlayStation IP. The company was threatened with legal action – with Sony saying it would sue the company if it didn’t stop selling the products – and had to cancel all orders consumers had placed.

Now let’s see how long it takes before CMP Shells is threatened with another lawsuit by Sony.

This happened shortly before the PlayStation 5 debut on November 12. Ahead of the console’s release, it also emerged that the DualSense controller could be customizable as well.
