To celebrate its 40th anniversary, SONY has launched a special edition of the player with a case and screen saver that gives it the image of the music player cassette. the NW-A100TPS pays tribute to the original Walkman, launched in 1979.

From an aesthetic similar to that of a smartphone, the device is endowed with a 3.6-inch HD display, 16GB of storage, a USB-charging It has a battery life of 26 hours. Users can choose to stream content via Bluetooth, but there is also a 3.5mm audio jack for using a wired headset.
The SONY Walkman comes with a 40th anniversary packaging logo on the back and a soft case "inspired and paying homage to SONY's first portable cassette player". When the screen saver is enabled and the enclosure is closed, the color of the changes changes depending on the type of file you are reading.
SONY debuted with the WALKMAN® in July 1979, starting with what would become an iconic series of portable media players with cassette players. the camera was devised by SONY's co-founder, masaru ibuka, who thought that the existing portable player was cumbersome and expensive. the Japanese company has since sold more than 400 million units worldwide.
The NW-A100TPS 'anniversary player will be on display at IFA's consumer electronics show in Berlin on Friday, September 6th. It goes on sale in Europe in November at € 440 / £ 400 and in Australia in December from $ 599. The details of the release in the United States are not yet clear.
