Kingdom Hearts’ Sora has long been a fan favorite contender for a Super Smash Bros Ultimate DLC fighter. For those who can’t wait to see if it’s added, a new mod may allow players to finally choose the protagonist of Disney-Square.
Sora is one of the most popular characters in all games, connecting the worlds of Final Fantasy and Disney with the Kingdom Hearts franchise. As such, he scored incredibly high in the Smash Ultimate Fighter ballots, with fans keen to see him take on other great players like Mario, Link, Sonic, Solid Snake, and more.
While he hasn’t come to Smash yet – and it’s unlikely he ever will – the talented modder ‘mastaklo’ has crafted one of the best fight mods yet that finally brings the character to Smash. .
Everything about Sora seems to match his Kingdom Hearts look perfectly, with the Keyblade sword, shorts, hair, and shoes. So, if you like visual perfection, you’re in luck.
Gameplay-wise, the mod uses Shulk’s move set and was initially teased in a December 2020 leak. As Dexerto previously reported, visuals for the mod were posted on a message board, claiming that Sora would come on Smash.
Mastaklo told Dexerto that a friend he had sent an early version of the mod to ended up posting these photos.
As for when you can download the mod, mastaklo is letting its Patreon supporters get early access, but it will be available to everyone starting February 19.

Unfortunately, for anyone who’s hoping to see Sora come to Smash, you shouldn’t be hoping. Imran Kahn, a former Game Informer editor, has publicly stated that Disney Japan has blocked Nintendo from adding the character to Smash, which is likely why we got Sephiroth instead.
Either way, at least now, fans can finally find a way to use Sora in Smash – just think of him as a Shulk Echo fighter. Who knows, however; With three more DLC packs coming in Fighters Pass Volume 2, there’s still a chance Sora will make his way to Ultimate in a more official way.
