After an emergency appendectomy, OG Anunoby, the Toronto Raptors goaltender, may no longer be available in the playoffs until it is possible to participate in the final phase of the conference. East, ESPN officials told the league.
The Raptors, seeded second, will face the Orlando Magic on Saturday in the first game of a series in the first round of the Eastern Conference.
OG Anunoby, the Raptors' first pick in 2017 in Indiana, averaged 6.4 points and 2.7 rebounds in his two seasons in Toronto.
Anunoby underwent the procedure Thursday after being diagnosed with acute appendicitis.
Anunoby has averaged seven points and 2.9 rebounds in 20 minutes per game for the Raptors, and brings an ability to keep several different positions on the field.
Anunoby was the 23rd overall pick in the 2017 NBA draft.
