COLUMBIA, SC – As first announced on November 21, the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) will not release daily COVID-19 numbers on New Years Day. Data that would be reported on the 1st January will be available online the following day.
Additionally, while DHEC will continue to provide daily COVID-19 updates on the agency’s webpage, effective January 2, 2021, the same information provided on scdhec.gov/COVID19 will no longer be published in a duplicate press release. DHEC will publicly announce on its social media platforms when the webpage has been updated with the new COVID-19 data for the day. The same information that was presented in the daily press release is available on the main COVID-19 webpage which will continue to be updated daily.
DHEC will continue to issue press releases announcing new and important information on the state’s response to COVID-19 and will continue to keep Southern Carolinians up to date with the most recent and factual information. For the latest information on the COVID-19 vaccine, scdhec.gov/vaxfacts.

- 10,369 individual test results reported statewide yesterday (not counting antibody tests)
