Coincidence, or more interference from Musk?

It looks like SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has once again professed his love for the weed number.
On Wednesday, two adjacent Raptor engines recently installed on the space company’s Super Heavy booster prototype were numbered “RB4” and “RB20”, as spotted by an eagle-eyed Twitter user, who was following yesterday’s events live courtesy of NASASpaceFlight.
Together, the engines make up 420, a number of notes in marijuana growing – and one that Musk seems to be absolutely obsessed with.
History lesson
In fact, SpaceX is planning its first Starship orbital test launch to involve a Super Heavy dubbed Booster 4 and a Starship prototype called Ship 20.
You guessed it – still the grass number. At least this time it was “total coincidence!” according to a tweet from Musk last month.
Musk has had a difficult relationship with the triple-digit number at times. In 2018, he joked (but not really) that he would privatize Tesla for a share price of $ 420 on Twitter. The comment sparked a lawsuit from the Securities and Exchange Commission.
The billionaire seems to have an endless appetite for silly numbers. “Also, the height of the booster was originally 70m, but we took out half a barrel for manufacturing efficiency, so now it’s…” Musk added in last month’s tweet, a reference to 69, another wacky number.
It is still unclear whether the Raptor engine pair were intentionally aligned to form the number 420. Musk has yet to release an official statement regarding the incident. But if it was a coincidence, there’s a good chance he’d be happy to find out.
