CLEVELAND – A special Mass will be held Monday morning in memory of a 22-year-old woman who collapsed and died during the 42nd Annual Cleveland Marathon Rite.

Mass for Taylor Ceepo starts at 7:15 am in St. Vincent-St. Mary High School.

Ceepo graduated from SVSM in 2015 and just finished her studies a few weeks ago at the University of Walsh, where she was part of the women's football team and graduated with a degree in biology with minor in psychology and chemistry.

She was running the half marathon Sunday morning, which is 13.1 miles, and was getting closer to the finish line when she suddenly collapsed around 8:56.

According to a university hospital spokeswoman, Ceepo was reportedly taken to the emergency room of her main campus where she died.

The cause of the collapse at this time is unclear, but other runners told FOX 8 that the unusually hot and humid weather was really a factor.

After a cool spring, it was the first day that many had run outside at temperatures above 50-60 degrees.

"It was difficult," said Michael Schaffer. "I saw more people than ever in cramps, many more people walking."

Death is hitting the community of runners very hard with many condolences shared online.

"I'm wholeheartedly with family and friends, it's a tragedy in what's supposed to be a special day," Schaffer said.

Walsh University issued the following statement to FOX 8 regarding the death of Ceepo. It reads in part:

"It is my sad duty to inform you that a beloved member of our Walsh family, Mrs. Taylor Ceepo, collapsed today as she ran the Cleveland Marathon and passed away. graduated from Walsh University a few weeks ago – pre-major, minor in psychology and chemistry, Taylor was a member of the women's football team and was from Medina, she was accompanied by her mother, his dear friends and his boyfriend (also a student from Walsh) go to see his family and relatives, your Walsh family will keep you all in prayer.

Residence Life staff will also be on campus to assist students currently on campus during this difficult time. "

Meanwhile, his college football team is also mourning his loss. Walsh Athletics issued the following statement on Twitter:
