The Oakland Raiders have released two stars of this season's "Hard Knocks" as they try to consolidate their roster of 53 players.

Luke Willson was released on Friday and wide receiver Keelan Doss was released on Saturday.

Canadian Willson played an important role in the August 27 episode as the team traveled to Winnipeg for a pre-season game against the Green Bay Packers. The tight game was previously with the Seattle Seahawks and the Detroit Lions.

Doss, an unprepared UC Davis rookie who grew up in Alameda, was a surprising cut after apparently impressing head coach Jon Gruden on the show.

The catcher made several impressive catches during the pre-season and was touted as the city's hero throughout the season.

Mike Garofolo of the NFL network reported that the Raiders would like to add Doss to their training team but that he needs to cancel the waivers beforehand.
