PLAINFIELD, Ind. (Inside INdiana Business) – A New York-based sports equipment maker is considering moving its headquarters to central Indiana. Certor Sports LLC announces that it will invest nearly $ 19 million to move its operations to a facility in Plainfield and create 300 jobs.

Certor rents over 200,000 square feet of space at the facility, located at 9400 Bradford Road. According to documents filed with the Indiana Economic Development Corp., the company is making the move in an effort to “keep pace with growing demand and facilities.”

Certor Sports was formed late last year by New York-based portfolio management firm Innovatus Capital Partners LLC. The company has acquired a number of brands of sports equipment from Kranos Corp. in Illinois, including Schutt, ProGear Shoulder Pads, Tucci Bats, Hollywood Bases, and Adams USA.

The IEDC offers Certor up to $ 5 million in incentives, including $ 3 million in conditional tax credits, which the company cannot claim until Hoosier workers are hired for the new jobs . The remainder includes $ 1 million in head office relocation tax credits and $ 1 million in training grants.
