LAS VEGAS – Last week, when the Brooklyn Nets defeated the New York Knicks to hire free agents Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, they also offered a model to the Knicks. In order to change their fortunes into free agencies, the Knicks must develop the kind of quality young talent that the Nets are able to put around Durant and Irving.
This process continues for New York at the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, where the Knicks have several members of their regular season team in action. This group includes recent lottery picks RJ Barrett and Kevin Knox, novice athletes Mitchell Robinson and Allonzo Trier from 2018-19 201 and the 2019 second-round pick Ignas Brazdeikis. With so much talent, the Knicks were installed as favorites to win the NBA Summer League by Caesars Sportsbook before starting 0-2.
