When Spotify isn’t busy adding things nobody asked for, like Instagram-like stories or exclusive podcasts, the company sometimes improves on existing features. It looks like the revamped playlist editing for Android is the next step. A few people on the Spotify subdirectory report that they can now change the covers and subtitles of their playlists in addition to being able to change the title and order of songs.

These new editing options appear to be in testing right now and are not yet widely available. To check if you’re already in the fun, open one of your playlists, tap the three-dot overflow menu in the top-right corner, then select Edit. You should then see the option to change the image and subtitle. If you are limited to tweaking the title and song order only, the server side update has not yet rolled out to you.

For a long time, Spotify users were limited to the desktop app when they wanted to properly edit their playlists. While the basic options have been around on Android for some time, this is the first step towards parity of features across the web and Android apps. On iOS, these advanced playlist editing options already seem to be available more widely.

You can download the latest version of Spotify from the Play Store. Just keep in mind that Advanced Playlist Editing acts like a server-side update, so even if you’re running the latest version, you might be left out.
