SPRINGFIELD, Missouri (KY3) – Springfield-Greene County Health Unit partners with Community Partnership of the Ozarks (CPO) and Community Foundation of the Ozarks (CFO) to offer a chance to win Greene for Vaccine ”.

Every week, any Greene County resident who receives their first COVID-19 vaccine has the opportunity to win $ 1,000.

This joint effort aims to motivate the 57% of Greene County residents who are not fully immunized to take this necessary action to protect our community.

“CPO is proud to be a part of this important partnership,” said Janet Dankert, President and CEO of CPO. “Increasing immunization rates in our community is critical to saving lives and ending the COVID-19 pandemic. “

The $ 5,000 prize is part of a $ 20,000 donation from CFO to promote and encourage vaccines.

“Our mission is to improve the quality of life for everyone in our region, and health is a critical part of that,” said Brian Fogle, President and CEO of CFO. “We believe that encouraging others to get vaccinated against COVID-19 reflects this mission and protects our community. “

How it works:

Greene for Vaccine will run from August 15 to September 18. Those who receive the first dose of Pfizer / Moderna or the Johnson & Johnson single dose vaccine will automatically be entered into a draw after the end of the week they were vaccinated. The breakdown of the week is below:

Aaron Schekorra, the public health information administrator for the Springfield-Greene County Department of Health, said community support has helped move this project forward.

“We know it’s a good investment of these resources that CFO is offering and so when they approached us to do something with this and bring CPO, Community Partnership of the Ozarks on board, it made sense,” Schekorra said. .

Schekorra also said the state’s successful vaccine lottery helped establish this program.

“We were able to look to the state and see across the state that we were seeing an increase in the number of vaccinations and that really made us excited to launch ‘Greene for Vaccine’,” Schekorra said.
