St. Martinville Police investigate Friday night shooting

A person was injured Friday evening, grazed by a bullet according to the police coming from two groups shooting at each other.

St. Martinville Police Chief Ricky Martin said they were investigating the incident on MLK and Pecan streets on Friday evening, August 20.

Chief Martin tells KATC that a person was hit by a bullet as shots were fired at what appear to be two groups of people. The two groups, he said, were firing from separate vehicles.

No suspect was identified on Saturday morning, but he says his service has descriptions of vehicles and is working to identify them.
