Bill burr can play Mayfeld on The Mandalorian, But in the past he hasn’t had the nicest things to say about Star wars. To be fair, Burr doesn’t have the nicest things to say a lot of things—That is sort of a trademark, considering his main career gig as acerbic funny actor. The line between what he really feels and what he jokes about is therefore never very clear.
This line which blurs with a hilarious effect in this new video from Morden Wex from YouTube. Here we see footage from the most recent episode of The Mandalorian, “The believer, “ featuring Mayfeld speaking to Mando and his crew. His modified to include audio, we believe, of an old episode of Burr’s Weekly Podcast. That’s wonderful.
Of course, whether or not Burr is serious when he said it doesn’t matter. He’s a guy known for his straightforward, sometimes brutal comedy, and when it starts rolling it just keeps going. Either way, this ability to portray contempt and indifference is exactly why Burr is so good on The Mandalorian. He’s a galaxy-disgusted character, played by a galaxy-disgusted actor.
Season two of The Mandalorian ends tonight, probably without Mayfeld.
