Starbucks, Walmart, Target: Major Retailers Revise Mask Rules As COVID-19 Cases Rise

[ad_1]

The delta variant of COVID-19 has spiked new cases nationwide, and some retail chains are once again asking employees and customers to mask themselves.

Following the Center for Disease Control and Prevention’s announcement of new guidelines that even vaccinated people wear masks indoors, many companies are reverting to those policies. These guidelines specify that indoor masks for vaccinated people are needed in areas of high spread.

Unvaccinated people are still encouraged to wear masks in most facilities.

Some retailers require employees to wear masks, while encouraging – but not requiring – customers to wear masks.

Here’s a look at some major retailers and their current mask policies:

Walmart: requires masks for employees, even vaccinated, and recommends them to all customers

Home deposit: requires masks for all customers and employees, contractors and salespeople

Target: requires masks for employees in high or high spread areas, recommends them for all customers

Costco: Masks are not required for vaccinated staff or clients, but still recommends that any unvaccinated person wear masks

Lowe’s: Requires masks for all employees when they are indoors and when working at a customer’s home or business, and recommends them to customers

Wegman: The grocery chain requires employees to wear masks and asks all customers to wear masks, regardless of their immunization status.

Whole foods: Masks are not required for vaccinated staff or clients, but always recommend masks for anyone who has not been vaccinated

Walgreens: masks are not mandatory for vaccinated customers, but still mandatory for employees and recommended for unvaccinated customers

Best buy: masks are not required for staff or vaccinated clients, but still required for staff and unvaccinated clients

Aldi: masks are not required for staff or clients who have been vaccinated, but still required for anyone who has not been vaccinated

Kohls: masks are not mandatory for vaccinated clients, but they are mandatory for staff and unvaccinated clients

McDonalds: The fast food giant is forcing its employees and customers to wear masks in restaurants in areas of high or significant transmission, regardless of vaccination status.

Starbucks : All employees are required to wear masks and customers are encouraged to wear masks.
