1. Tariff Applications
As President Donald Trump returns home after his trip to Europe today, White House officials are preparing for Trump's plan to impose a 5% tariff on Mexican imports next week.
On Thursday, Vice President Mike Pence said talks with Mexican officials to reach an agreement on the influx of migrants to the US-Mexico border were "encouraging," but that the Trump government "would continue to firmly defend his claims ".
Republican lawmakers hope the president will not respect tariffs, says ABC News's Trish Turner at "Start Here" today, "Congress wants to stop what President Trump is trying to do, including Senate Republicans, some of his best allies on the hill. "
2. Hyde and Biden
Former Vice President Joe Biden reversed his position on the Hyde Amendment, telling Democratic voters at an event in Atlanta: "I can no longer support" the measure that prevents federal funds to be used for abortions.
"I can not justify leaving millions of women without access to the care they need and the opportunity to exercise their right protected by the Constitution," he said at the "IWillVote" gala. the DNC in Atlanta on Thursday night.

Biden has come under pressure from women's rights groups and other Democratic presidential candidates after reaffirming her support for the abortion measure. He said his turnaround was due to recently adopted abortion bans that involved Roe v. Wade.
Will this political strategy for a centrist candidate moving to the left, or a fall? MaryAlice Parks, Deputy Policy Director of ABC News, said, "Maybe it could have been a sensible and sensible policy position to be different from other Democrats, but it just was not presented that way ".

3. Robocall Battle
The Federal Communications Commission voted in favor of allowing telecom operators to block illegal automated calls before reaching consumers.
This is a positive step in targeting illegal and unwanted calls, but much more needs to be done to completely eliminate automated calls, says FCC member Jessica Rosenworcel.
"It's actually a legal permission for [phone companies] deploy this type of technology, but it does not require doing so, "she said. The FCC must then require a technology called call authentication technology, which is a cryptic logic solution that will help us identify reliable and unreliable calls. "
4. U-S-A! UNITED STATES!
The Women's World Cup kicks off today in Paris, where hosts and reigning champions, the US National Football Team, are considered favorites, according to Julie Foudy of ESPN, a former American football background.
"This will be by far the most competitive women's world cup we have ever seen," she said in "Start Here".
The US women's team is aiming for its fourth World Cup and will face Thailand for its opening game on Tuesday.
