State Confirms Tuolumne County Not On County Data Watch List

Sonora, California – Tuolumne County Public Health reports that no new residents of Tuolumne County have been identified with COVID-19. Three people who had isolated themselves have now recovered. There are no hospitalized cases. California State Public Health confirms it will not place Tuolumne County on the county’s data watch list based on data collected while the CalREDIE system was temporarily frozen.

Known Tuolumne tests: 9,213, 165 positive (85 women and 77 men), hospitalized 0, active cases 3, total recovered 160. Of the 165 known residents of Tuolumne who have tested positive for the coronavirus since March, 160 have been released isolation. The 160 are being reported as ‘cured’ although they may never have experienced any noticeable symptoms or may continue to have persistent health issues linked to the virus, contact tracing is ongoing.

Tuolumne County Public Health Updates

Tuolumne County Public Health is working on the data dashboard and will update the Roadmap tab for recovery measurement this week, as resources permit.

Due to the extreme heat, cooling centers will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. until Wednesday, August 19.e as detailed here. Information about the Calaveras cooling center can be found here. PG&E is asking the public to limit power consumption to avoid power outages, as detailed here.

If you have COVID-like symptoms, self-isolate and contact your health care provider or the Adventist Health Triage Line at 209-536-5166 Monday through Friday or 209-536-5000 after hours. If you need immediate medical attention, please call ahead and go to prompt care or emergency room. You can also visit www.valleycovidhelp.com for more information.

The state’s free trial site is open at the Calaveras County Fairgrounds Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Appointments can be scheduled in advance at: https://lhi.care/covidtesting Appointments are highly recommended as walk-in visits are extremely limited. The site now offers tests for children aged 3 and over (accompanied by a parent or guardian).

It is important that people continue to follow prevention guidelines to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, including:

  • Practice physical distance at all times. Keep 6 feet of space between yourself and others who are not in your household. Stay in your domestic bubble!
  • Wear a face mask in public.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly and frequently.
  • Avoid gatherings of any size with people outside your household.
  • Stay home if you are sick.
  • Avoid unnecessary travel and limit your outings to essential tasks.
