State data on Monday showed 134 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Upper Peninsula since Friday, including 20 in Menominee County, seven in Dickinson County and five in Iron County.

The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services coronavirus website on Monday reported 30 new cases in Delta County over the past three days, plus 25 in Marquette County, the 20 in Menominee County, nine in Houghton and Chippewa Counties, eight in Gogebic County, seven in Dickinson and Baraga Counties, six in Mackinac County, five in Iron County, four in Schoolcraft County and two each in Counties of Ontonagon and Algiers.

Using only MDHHS figures, the Upper Peninsula had 21,421 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 449 deaths on Monday.

Across the UP, MDHHS data on Monday had Keweenaw County at 150 confirmed and 33 probable cases, and one confirmed death and one probable death; Luce County, 235 confirmed and 266 probable cases, four confirmed deaths and one probable death; County of Algiers, 349 confirmed, 208 probable and three deaths, four probable; Schoolcraft County, 387 confirmed and 98 probable cases, four deaths and one probable; Ontonagon County, 461 confirmed deaths, 61 probable and 21 deaths, one probable; Mackinac County, 523 confirmed and 273 probable cases, three deaths; Baraga County, 743 confirmed cases, 131 probable and 40 deaths; Iron County, 1,053 confirmed and 79 probable cases, 43 deaths and 10 probable; Gogebic County, 1,156 confirmed and 370 probable cases, 24 deaths and 29 probable; Chippewa County, 1,185 confirmed and 1,501 probable cases, and 29 deaths, five probable; Menominee County, 1,950 confirmed cases, 426 probable and 42 deaths, two probable; Dickinson County, 2,491 confirmed and 434 probable cases, 59 deaths and 15 probable; Houghton County, 2,673 confirmed cases, 630 probable, 36 deaths and eight probable; Delta County, 3,679 confirmed and 777 probable cases, 76 deaths and 19 probable; and Marquette County, 4,386 confirmed cases, 878 probable and 64 deaths, one probable. State figures may lag behind local reports or show other discrepancies.

The MDHHS on Monday had 5,020 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Michigan since Friday, an average of about 1,673 per day for the three days, for a total to date of 946,698. The state added 27 deaths on Monday. attributed to the virus – including six that occurred earlier but recently verified through a review of vital records – to reach 20,257.

The state now provides updated COVID-19 figures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

For the five counties of Wisconsin in the region, the state Department of Health’s COVID-19 data site on Monday added 13 new confirmed positives in Marinette County, eight in Forest County, six in the county. de Vilas and one in Iron County.

Wisconsin on Monday added 3,656 new positive cases in the state since Friday for a total of 659,323 confirmed cases of COVID-19 to date. The state recorded seven more deaths linked to the virus to reach 7,584.
