State releases preliminary schedule for COVID-19 vaccinations

(WXYZ) – The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has released a preliminary schedule for COVID-19 vaccinations in the state.

They started vaccinations in December 2020 with critical health workers, then moved on to residents and long-term care staff.

On Monday, the state then moved to Phase 1B vaccinations which included frontline workers, first responders, teachers and people aged 65 and over.

Depending on the timeline, other essential frontline workers and people aged 16-64, Phase 1C, could occur by May and last through late summer and early summer. autumn.

After that, the state said all remaining essential workers would be vaccinated, which could begin by July at the end of the year, and finally, phase 2 is for anyone aged 16 or older, who could start in August.
