After the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 27-3 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars, head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media about injuries sustained in the victory. For guys like cornerback Joe Haden and wide receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster, Tomlin characterized the injuries as normal bumps and bruises associated with the game.
But for Zach Gentry, things are not so clear or optimistic. Tomlin called Gentry’s knee injury “significant” and promised an upgrade later in the week.
Gentry has been playing the past two weeks due to Vance McDonald being on the Reserve / COVID-19 roster. There has been no update on McDonald’s status since it was listed. Tomlin said in his post-game press that he hopes to have an update this week.
If McDonald’s can’t come back and Gentry’s injury is as bad as it’s assumed, Pittsburgh will lead a lot more than 11 people on Thursday against the Baltimore Ravens.
