After three straight losses, the Steelers looked like a very different team after taking a 17-6 halftime lead over the Broncos 3-1. The Steelers offense has easily had its best half of a season yet. It all started with Ben Roethlisberger’s 50-yard touchdown pass to Diontae Johnson in the game’s first practice. Pittsburgh hit the end zone again when Roethlisberger’s 59-yard completion at Chase Claypool set up Najee Harris’s second rushing touchdown in as many weeks. Big Ben’s big throws were completed by Najee Harris, who rushed for 89 yards and a touchdown in the first half.

Pittsburgh linebackers’ big plays forced Denver to settle for two goals from the field in the first half. After Malik Reed’s strip-sack against Roethlisberger, the Broncos settled for a field goal after TJ Watt stuffed Javonte Williams for a four-yard loss. Williams went wild for a 49-yard run in the second quarter before Devin Bush’s sack of Teddy Bridgewater forced another field goal from Brandon McManus. The Steelers defense allowed just 107 total yards and a third down conversion in the first half.
