Jeanie Buss and the Los Angeles Lakers are having a hard time. On Wednesday, they reportedly interrupted talks with Tyronn Lue after the two sides could not agree on an agreement. Now, Stephen A. Smith says people close to Buss tell him to swap LeBron James.
Yeah, sorry SAS, but I do not buy that. I understand that Buss and his family do not want LeBron to lead the organization, but nobody who does not fear does not tell anyone to negotiate with the Lakers.
James must be managed and can not become the de facto GM of a team, but LA desperately needs him. Obviously, the team and its star player must meet and put themselves on the same page, but no, the Lakers should not trade it.
It will be interesting to see how the next few weeks unfold. The Lakers need a new coach and should probably do the housework at the front desk. This must happen before any rebuilding of the list.
