Steven Soderbergh to direct new ‘KIMI’ online pic with Zoe Kravitz – Deadline

EXCLUSIVE: After signing a global deal with HBO Max, Steven Soderbergh seems to have found his next feature film with the studio. He came on board to direct the New Line Max Original feature WHO with Zoƫ Kravitz on board to play. The film will be presented exclusively on HBO Max. David Koepp wrote the screenplay and will produce with Michael Polaire.

The film follows an agoraphobic technician who uncovers recorded evidence of a violent crime during a regular examination of the data stream and attempts to report it down his company’s chain of command. Encountering resistance and bureaucracy, she realizes that in order to get involved, she will have to do what she fears the most: leave her apartment.

The film would mark the second collaboration between Warner Bros. Pictures Group, HBO Max and Soderbergh since the recent studio restructuring and the third between Soderbergh and HBO Max. It follows No sudden movement, the upcoming Starry Max Original crime thriller movie from Warner Bros. Pictures which stars Don Cheadle, Benicio Del Toro, David Harbor, Amy Seimetz, Jon Hamm, Ray Liotta, Kieran Culkin, Brendan Fraser, Noah Jupe, Bill Duke, Frankie Shaw and Julia Fox. His most recent photo Let them all talk, starring Meryl Streep, premiered on HBO Max in December.

Kravitz has been on a roll lately after landing the coveted Catwoman role in Matt Reeve’s The Batman, where she plays alongside Robert Pattinson, who will play the Caped Crusader. On top of that, she received heavy reviews as the star of the Hulu series. High fidelity and HBO Big little lies.

Koepp is a seasoned screenwriter whose screen credits include Jurassic Park, Death Becomes Her, Carlito’s Way, Mission: Impossible, Spider-Man, and Panic room.

Soderbergh is replaced by Michael Sugar at Sugar23 and Jamie Feldman at Lichter Grossman Nichols. Kravitz is replaced by CAA, Untitled Entertainment and Edelstein, Laird & Sobel. Koepp is replaced by CAA and Myman Greenspan Fox.
