COLUMBUS, Mississippi (WCBI) – SUMMARY: An active weather model will give way to an increased risk of showers / thunderstorms until Wednesday.

TUESDAY: Clouds will intensify throughout the day and scattered showers to numerous thunderstorms are expected to develop by noon until the afternoon. Some of these storms could become locally strong or briefly violent with gusty winds and hail the main concern. Daytime highs will likely continue into the 70s, but a few places will likely see 80 degrees.

WEDNESDAY: Showers and thunderstorms are still possible, but coverage is expected to be slightly lower compared to Tuesday. The peaks will remain in the upper 70s.

THURSDAY: Expect a return to partly cloudy conditions with limited chance of rain, mostly in the morning. The afternoon promises to be warmer with highs close to 80 degrees.

FRIDAY / WEEKEND: The weather seems dry, sunny and warm all weekend long, with peaks reaching the mid-80s each day.
