Strangers Shelter is a delivery woman stranded for 5 days during the Texas cold snap – now part of the family

Chelsea Timmons decided to make this their last delivery because the roads in Austin, Texas were getting smoother. When she finally got stuck in the client’s driveway, it turned out there was a great silver lining.

Not wanting to go up the driveway, the employee at the HEB grocery store tried to drive her car up the steep hill, but helplessly slipped into the garden.

Although the couple tried to help move their car, efforts failed – and AAA road service was already inundated with calls.

It was then that Nina Richardson and Doug Condon decided, as the weather got worse and security concerns increased, that she should move in with them.

“It’s just what you do when things come up,” Nina told ABC News.

“We have daughters and we hope that if they ever found themselves in a situation like this, there would be someone who would open their house and help them out,” Doug added.

Over dinner, they learned that Chelsea would like to open a bakery someday – and she quickly volunteered to make them a delicious gluten-free coconut cake.

She slept in the spare bedroom for five days, became friends with the dog, and realized how lucky she was overall.

“I found out that my apartment had lost water, electricity, so being ‘stuck here’ turned out to be a better situation. Most of my family lost electricity for several days. “

“I really ate a lot better here,” she exclaimed. “They made me feel comfortable and made me feel like part of the family.”
