Students buy fake vaccination cards to circumvent admission requirements

Some North Carolina students are buying fake vaccination cards to avoid tests and admission requirements, according to local reports. Meanwhile, the FBI is cracking down on a similar system of fake vaccine cards in Chicago.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is requiring students to receive a COVID-19 vaccine or undergo weekly testing. Duke University has a stricter policy in place, only allowing students to submit proof of COVID-19 vaccination without an alternative.

But despite the fact that getting a vaccine is often free, some students would pay as much as $ 200 for fake COVID-19 vaccination cards.

“It’s really disturbing how far some students are willing to go to subvert the demands of college and really subvert their duty to their fellow students to keep everyone safe,” said Simon Palmore, a junior at the ‘UNC, at WCNC.

In other parts of the country, the FBI has adopted this ploy.

The FBI confirmed to CBS Chicago that it was investigating a case where someone profited from the sale of bogus vaccination cards.
