A suburban hospital on Friday temporarily suspended coronavirus vaccinations after four members of the team experienced side effects.

As of Thursday, attorney Condell Medical Center in Libertyville said four people who had received the COVID-19 vaccine experienced tingling and increased heart rate shortly after the injection.

“As a precaution, we are temporarily suspending vaccinations at Condell, which will allow us to better understand what may have caused these reactions,” the health center said in a statement.

Advocate Aurora Health recalled that the four people who suffered the adverse effects represent less than 0.15% of the approximately 3,000 people who have so far been vaccinated across their health system.

The health center said that on Friday three members of the team were at home and “doing well”, while one person received additional treatment.

“Reactions are an expected side effect of vaccination. We are encouraged by our team members who are eager to receive the vaccine to help protect themselves and others and end this pandemic, ”said lawyer Aurora Health.

Advocate Aurora Health has eight other vaccination sites in Illinois and three in Wisconsin, which are continuing all vaccinations as scheduled.
