Masahiro Sakurai shares new post about the final Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC character on Twitter

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Director Masahiro Sakurai tweeted on October 3, announcing the latest DLC reveal stream as a “celebration of the game.”

Masahiro Sakurai: “We are getting closer to revelation…
October 5, the final SumaBura SP The DLC fighter will be revealed! This will be our last celebration of the game. I really hope you all watch it live. You absolutely must mark the date on your timetables and calendars! “

With this tweet, Masahiro Sakurai reminded us one last time that the DLC characters in Fighter Pass Vol.2 are a “Celebration of the Game”. This could be a clue that the final character will once again be a third. Instead of a Nintendo character.

Except for Min Min of Arms and Homura / Hikari from Xenoblade 2, all characters from Fighters Pass Vol. 2 were from third parties, so there is a possibility that this could happen again. It’s really interesting that Sakurai decided to reiterate it now, two days before the reveal.

Director Sakurai also shared the same tweet in English.

The latest “Mr. Sakurai Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Broadcast Presents” will take place on October 5 at 10 a.m. EST. Masahiro Sakurai was also recently featured in Harada’s Bar video interviews where he shared a ton of details and comments. interesting things about the gaming industry, it’s a must-have even if you don’t like Smash bros.

In case you haven’t heard of it, in May 2021 Masahiro Sakurai also ended his bi-weekly column in Famitsu Magazine after 18 years. It was there that he notably greeted Death stranding and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. He also spoke of Cyberpunk 2077. His column has unfortunately been regularly poorly translated over the years. The latter was no exception as it sparked a rumor claiming Sakurai was about to retire, although he never said that.

The presentation of October 5 could also give us some clues on the future of Smash bros after the Fighter Pass Vol. 2. You can always contact me on Twitter @ A_iyane07 to discuss Japanese games. Also, be sure to check out the rest of our TGS 2021 coverage.
