MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio – With the fall season coming soon, you can be sure to find and support your local businesses at the Blue Ribbon Farmer’s Market.

The market is held weekly on Saturdays at the Muskingum County Fairgrounds from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Jim Siegrist, member of the Siegrist Orchard family business, who has been with his family since the early 1920s, said apples and cider are the best sellers for them, and encourages people to buy market peaches. now because they are going fast.

“Right now we are finishing on peaches. It’s the last week for them and then we’re right in the middle of apple season, ”said Siegrist.

B&B Produce was another vendor at the farmer’s market and member Sharon Bauer said there were items other than fruits and vegetables sold at the market.

“I make all the jams and sauces myself and try to use local products as much as possible. Lots of things that I have grown myself or that I get from Sigrest Orchard. So, I try not to use products that I have to buy from Walmart or elsewhere. I try to use all the premises, ”said Bauer.

Other local businesses that will be present are food trucks, crafts, household items, cosmetics, jewelry and more. The Blue Ribbon Farmer’s Market will continue until October 31 every Saturday.
