New information regarding the alleged double murder against YNW Melly has surfaced, and it appears to corroborate the statement of the Miramar Police Department that the rapper allegedly killed two of his friends and that his colleague, a member of the YNW rap team, YNW Bortlen, reportedly been complicit in the subsequent concealment.
According to documents filed in Broward County, Florida on Feb. 14 and posted on the Internet this week (Feb. 25), evidence from the scene of the alleged shooting resulted in the death of YNW Mellyof two friendsfellow rappers YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy report the two men who were shot in the Jeep Compass instead of the outside on October 26, 2018. When YNW Bortlen drove the victims to hospital on the night of shooting, He said that shots were fired from outside the Jeep during a shootout.
According to the authorities, only one ".40 caliber shell was found inside the vehicle on the floorboard of the left rear passenger side", where Melly, 19, was apparently seated at the time of the shooting. They say that the unique casing, which was found inside a white bag on the floor of the car "contradicts the statements of [Bortlen] stating that this incident was a shooting. YNW Sakchaser was the right front passenger and YNW Juvy was the right rear passenger.
The investigators said in their documents that Melly and Bortlen fired from the outside of the vehicle to make the shootout seem like a must.. In another part of the affidavit, investigators say that Melly and Bortlen wandered with the bodies in the car for a while so they could invent a story about the shooting before they arrived at the hospital.
Florida authorities also shared a conversation on Snapchat that Melly and his girlfriend had two weeks after the murders. One of Melly's messages was: "Say nigga m saved life, he came everywhere with me because crackers come to grab it, it's my fault, you forgot it . " Melly wrote, referring to Bortlen. "I keep Bortlen with me for the day, he made a realistic shit in my life".
As noted earlier, investigators believe that Melly is the trigger and Bortlen is an accomplice in hiding this so-called double murder. Melly and Bortlen are currently in Broward County Jail. The two rappers are detained without bail.
Melly was formally arrested for the murders of YNW Sakchaser and YNW Juvy on February 13th. He was charged with two counts of first degree murder the same day. Melly's alleged accomplice, Bortlen, was charged with two counts of first degree murder and two counts of complicity after the fact.
Since his arrest, the Florida rapper, who publicly mourned the deaths of his two friends after the October 2018 shooting, has experienced an increase in the flow of his hit song, "Murder on My Mind", on multiple platforms, including Spotify and Apple Music. The track is currently at number 14 of the Billboard Hot 100. His song, "Mixed Personalities", assisted by Kanye West, is in place of number 60 on the same board.
