An 18 year old man was fired for causing a fatal accident in Luleå on Christmas Eve last year. A 31 year old woman died in the accident. The trial court sentenced the man to death and neglect of the person in the traffic jams, to suspended sentences and to daily fines.

The Supreme Court of Upper Norrland is in the process of settling the verdict and endangering the 18-year-old in danger of death and gross negligence.

"The 18-year-old has violated two traffic rules of fundamental importance to road safety and he must have understood that the consequences could normally be very serious if driving at the current speed, against the current, in a four-lane crossing, "says court lawyer Susanne Lundgren Jonasson in a press release.

The man is sentenced to 120 hours mandatory service. For example, ideally associated associations, municipalities and condemned churches provide social services.

The 18-year-old also has to pay damages to the woman's family.
