A 75-year-old man was shot in the hip while he was running early on Thursday morning in Färingtofta, in the Klippan municipality. A hunter suspected of firing the man by mistake was arrested.
The alleged hunting accident occurred at 16:30.
"It was early in the morning that the police were contacted by a 75-year-old man who said that he had been jogging and had been ashamed. And that he had an injury that proved it, "said Rickard Lundqvist, police spokesman.
Escalators and an ambulance went on site.
"They were able to see that there was a gunshot wound on the hunt.
Medical care describes injuries as being benign.
"It's a weird story." We tried to understand why you're ashamed to jog during this time, says Rickard Lundqvist.
Police patrols revealed that a team of hunters was searching for the area. When the police found the hunting team, one of the hunters was gone.
The police searched the ground and found the missing hunter. At 12:23 pm, they reported to the management center that one person had been arrested.
The 48-year-old man was arrested as a suspect for serious bodily injury.
– That's what he's suspected now. There may be a breach of arms, but we can see it, says Rickard Lundqvist.
