A dangerous drowning in Ystad – a man in the hospital

A man in the '85s is sent to the hospital after a drowning accident in southern Skåne. The man was not aware.

A police, rescue, ambulance and rescue helicopter from Sjöräddningen was alerted at the Löderup beach bath in southern Skåne on Saturday after a drowning alarm.

An 85-year-old man was bathed with a parent when he suddenly disappeared under the surface of the water. The woman tried to help her, but she was unable to stay above the water level. Both people were rescued by the public on the beach while emergency service arrived at the location.

– It was out of the water when we arrived, but we were not aware of it. We started rescuing the heart and lungs and the ambulance arrived a few minutes later, "Magnus Fogelberg told the rescue service.

The man was unknowingly taken to an ambulance hospital with his relatives.

– It does not look so good, says Magnus Fogelberg.

Bathing Shells Intervention

Police scream on their website the people who helped the woman and the man out of the water. A young man should have been particularly involved and help the man and the woman to land by means of their surfboard.

Police now want to get in touch with the man.

– We want to talk to him to thank him as a human being, but also to hear what he feels, says Rickard Lundqvist, a presidential man at the police.

I had a curious scream on the beach

But there were also people on the beach who did not behave as well. The beach was bumpy when both people came out of the water. Several people gathered at the rescue mission to watch – even parents with their children.

– There are some things you should not always consider younger, says Rickard Lundqvist.

The police have cleared people so that the emergency services can do their job and install cars to hide the view.
