"We do not always walk very well."

The recent Pride campaign of the Defense Force raised a great debate – but the answer is mostly positive

– Some view it as a political issue. This is not the case, it is simply about human rights, says the project manager Nemo Stjernström

On social networks, around Stockholm, on printed materials and in the newspapers. Everywhere the message of pride of the armed forces appears.

This is a word word on the word "right", which can be translated to both "right" and "heterosexual". With "we do not always walk", the armed forces want to show that everyone is welcome in the army.

– We are an inclusive workplace. Our task is to defend and defend all Swedes, says Nemo Stjernström

"We want to be seen, and be clear that we are for that," says Nemo Stjernström.

Global Commitment

On the photos accompanying the campaign, a man and a woman can see. They paint rainbow colors on their faces, and look with great confidence in the camera.

– Usually, we put color on the face to hide us. In this case, we would do the opposite, we want to be seen. Be clear that we are defending that.

The Armed Forces participated in Pride for more than ten years. He is world class, something of which Nemo Stjernström is proud.

– Some people perceive this as a political game, it is not for us. These are just human rights and clarity. We defend Sweden, our freedom and our right to live as we please.

"Genushams"

There are those who have criticized the campaign. On the Facebook page of the Defense Force, you can see:

"Hmmm let me see, defending the country was the task, that is, dead enemies do not cool with genus and that people love at home in bed. "

Social media comments vary – but most of them are tributes.

But the comments of those working in the military are unanimously positive on social media:

"I am terribly proud to be part of the armed forces.
Their task is to defend laws, ordinances, human rights, the borders of the empire, help with disasters (such as fires), support international efforts
It is wonderful that the armed forces can be a brutal act of violence, that they can experience from their homelands. "

– It's a marker of what we defend for what we are supposed to defend," says Nemo Stjernström.
