A bus and a taxi collided in Götaälvbron, Gothenburg. Two people are seriously injured, police said.

"There was panic all over the bridge," said Sabina Gojak, 25, a witness to the accident.

A city bus and a taxi broke down at Götaälvbron in Göteborg at 23:00 on Saturday. The bridge stopped completely for about an hour after the accident and during the rescue operations.

"It is extremely close to the bridge and the whole region, even Stenungssund," says Johan Eklund, operator of alarm and management in Gothenburg.

The majority of ambulances, police and rescue forces were alerted on the site. Three people were taken to the hospital, according to SOS Alarm. Police patrols in place said two people were seriously injured.

"Panic on the whole bridge"

Sabina Gojak, 25, witnessed the accident as she was returning home after a biobesök. She and her husband had taken a bus that suddenly braked hard not to go directly into the crashed vehicles.

"There was panic all over the bridge, there were a lot of people, the first thing I saw was a man lying on the floor," Sabina Gojak tells Aftonbladet.

She tells people to sit down and cry on the floor and that one of the taxi passengers stayed in the front seat while the airbag was tripped.

– A man with completely bloody hands came to me. He seemed to be in shock and came and went. I asked how he could do but he just said, my friend, my friend, "said Sabina Gojak.

Taxi taken

According to the initial data for the rescue service, it is a frontal rock.

"Taxis are completely demolished at the front," said Oscar Magnusson, an independent photographer who was at the scene of the accident.

The police took the taxi.

"We will conduct a technical investigation on the car," said Magnus Nordqvist, command officer at the Gothenburg police.
