On Tuesday, four people were arrested for committing serious hunting, heavy hunting and serious crime offenses at the Västmanland District Court. The investigation includes the illegal hunting of wolves, lynx and large eagles between 2014 and 2018, where the crimes will be committed in the municipalities of Surahammmar and Norberg.
The investigation is managed by the national police operations department, Noa, who has been working on the case for a few months. In a press release, Noa reveals what methods were used to launch the hunt on the tracks.
During the investigation, the police resorted to covert coercive measures, including in the form of telephone intercepts. The police also made numerous seizures of weapons, clothing and electronic communications.
"There has been effective police work in which we have used many of Noa's specialist skills during the investigation and we also have good working relationships with the prosecutor," said Filippo Bassini, responsible of nature protection to Noa, in the press release.
