One person died in a road accident on Highway 9 on Sunday night.
The accident occurred in Smygehamn just before 17:30. A passenger car fell into a tree at the Smyge seabed and started to burn.
"The car was completely out of date when we arrived at the site," explains Leif Brobeck, external agent of the Trelleborg rescue service.
The driver was left in the car when help arrived. Several ambulances were sent to the site, but the ambulance staff could only discover that the person had died.
The identity of the driver was not yet fully established at 10 pm Sunday night, but according to the police, everything indicates that he is the owner of the car. Parents are informed.
No one should have traveled in the car.
The rescue services quickly took control of the fire, which he did not extend to the environment.
At 7 pm, the rescue service was ready to complete the bet.
"We will now take the car and move it to Ystad where you will carry out a technical study," said Leif Brobeck.
The road was completely closed at the scene of the accident during relief operations and the Swedish Transport Authority reported a growing queue between Smygehamn and Beddingestrand. Traffic users were asked to choose another route. Immediately after 19:00, the traffic was released again.
