The Dragonfly project has been running since the end of last year and consisted of meetings between the Google CEO and senior Chinese government officials.
The project means that Google faces a censored version of its search engine in China, which blocks the key words related to human rights, religion and democracy.
Amnesty International is now calling on Google to close the plans and launch a name collection.
Today, more than 90 employees are behind the organization and have written about the collection of names. Employees also write in a joint statement on the Medium platform:
"Our resistance does not concern China: we oppose the technology that helps the power to suppress the weak no matter who it is."
They also write A dragonfly in China would create a "dangerous precedent in an ephemeral political moment".
At the same time, several employees of the company are planning to demonstrate at headquarters in several regions of the world.
Google has not yet commented on the actions of employees.
