"When the police arrive, we will find a wounded man lying," said Anna Göransson, police spokeswoman for the presidency.

The man was rushed to hospital by ambulance. The police initially opened a preliminary investigation into an attempted murder.

"We are always on the scene and are actively working on finding information and talking to people," said Göransson.

At 10:40 pm, police wrote on his website that the man, aged 40, had died as a result of his injuries. The parents of the male are informed.

A man suspected of murder was arrested.

The police are still working at the scene of the crime and are looking for other suspects in the area.
