"We had a big raw list, but it was our first choice, so it was fun to be able to solve it," said Blåvitt's sports director, Jonas Olsson, at GT.

The transition was made after Blåvitt had received recommendations from Jakob Johansson, a former IFK player, who had played with Anestis at AEK Athens.

The agreement with the holder extends over a year and a half (during the summer of 2020), but Blåvitt was hoping to get a contract longer than that one.

"I'd rather have a longer contract, but that's what we've seen, in a year … either we'll extend it, or we'll sell it," said Jonas Olsson.

Giannis Anestis is closest to the Israeli Hapoel Be Sheva, but in the fall, he no longer has a contract after being dropped by the club.

– When he went to the Israeli team, he was immediately wounded. Then he was a bit forced to start his match against Zagreb after a 0-5 defeat. He did not have a good match there, nor a catastrophic match. He had practiced very little before. We have seen everything that can be seen with him.

Earlier this fall, the Greeks ranked by the national team also met Djurgården – but the club has decided to withdraw, writes Football Sthlm today.

– This is a total evaluation. What can we do about this player? Should we go for a Greek guardian? He has an interesting resume but also a difficult time in Israel. Yes, we did a full assessment, said Bosse Andersson, sports director of Djurgården, on the site.

According to Fotball Sthlm, the economic bet was a decisive factor and the question of the coach of Djurgården was not resolved at the time.

"If we meet him, we explore everything, but we decided not to move on," said Bosse Andersson.

But according to GT, Giannis Anestis has not managed the medical examination in Djurgården.

"I do not know," says Jonas Olsson, Blåvitt's sports director.

Instead, the goalkeeper arrives at IFK Gothenburg – and there is no doubt in Blåvitt.

Olle Sultan, head coach of IFK Göteborg, and Stefan Remnér, goaltending coach, are also based in Greece and have completed a training session with the new Greek from Blåvitt.

"We feel safe in the survey we conducted," says Jonas Olsson.

Giannis Anestis joined the Blåvitt troupe at the end of January.
