"When I wrote about the name of Norrköping Street, the names of neighborhoods appeared all the time.Most often, neighborhood names are older than street names.It was exciting to find an older story.

There are about 1400 blocks in Norrköping. How long have you been working with the book?

– About a year of different intensities.

What surprised you?

"It was enough that there were so many links with the professions or the inhabitants of the oldest neighborhoods, like the" hat "after the hatter or" Eken "after the mayor Jacob Ekbohm.

According to history, the neighborhood of Good Friends was spared by the Russians during the fire of the city in 1719. This is due to the fact that the neighborhood house had an owner who was on the right track with Russians. Is this a true story?

– It's likely. The name of the quaternary came only a few years after the ravages and the memory of the near story would have been good.

What is the strangest name you have encountered?

– The neighborhood of Envietet and Vett og våben near Karl Johans Park is a strange name. Witnesses and weapons were on Charles XII 's emergency room. I have no sure explanation of the neighborhood name. But one theory might be that the names were a tribute to the power of the king. Part of the name of the neighborhood of the city can not be explained.

Do you have more thoughts on neighborhood names?

– That the historical links are clearer in the names of neighborhoods in the center of Norrköping than when you leave the center a little bit.

Will there be more books?

– Perhaps. I have some loose ideas that it might be worth pursuing.
