Chimney's activities in Berlin, Frankfurt, Mannheim and Copenhagen are bankrupt. Just before filing the bankruptcy petitions, the company changed its name to all the companies involved. Several legal proceedings have also been instituted against important personalities within the company.
The production company Chimney is present throughout the world, but is headquartered in Sweden. Last year, the group achieved a turnover of just over 388 million SEK with a modest net margin of 0.83%.
One of the markets in which most of its activities took place is Germany, where it was established in 2012. Chimney has, among other things, operated in Berlin, Frankfurt and Mannheim – three operations that went into bankruptcy earlier this year. When the subsidiaries filed for bankruptcy, Chimney's German CEO said Florian Korn these bankruptcies would not affect current activities but would rather be perceived as a restructuring of the companies.
Earlier this fall, Chimney in Copenhagen also filed for bankruptcy, although a few months ago a significant amount of capital was paid to The Chimney Pot AB. Chimney Copenhagen then estimated that the capital would last until June 30, 2019.
However, according to the summary, The Chimney Pot AB has chosen to rename all of its affiliates shortly before filing an application, to avoid any interconnection with the Chimney brand.
In Denmark, employees and suppliers claim that after the bankruptcy they were not paid for the services rendered. Legal proceedings have therefore been instituted against several of the members of the board of directors. Among the members of the board of directors is the Swedish CEO of Chimney Henric Larsson, the group's CFO Gustav Kask, Chimney Copenhagen City Manager Niclas Höggren and CEO of the group Michal Kalinowski.
