During the night of January 30, 2017, a wind caused a fire in the Järpgränd building and about thirty people lost their homes in the cold. The house could not save and it was so damaged in the fire that what remained after the demolition of the emergency services. The rental house was part of the real estate portfolio that Heimstaden (then Nordhalla) bought from Lulebo 2016.
The Heimstaden has presented what he wants to do on the vacant Järpgränd land. The company has submitted to the Municipality of Luleå a request for modification of the detailed plan of Hertsön, in the district of Fågelhandlaren and Bird Watchers, which includes a total of about 430 apartments spread over 32 two-storey houses. City Council requests that the provisions of the detailed plan be amended so that the floors that now contain storage facilities can be converted into apartments. It's just a request, no concrete construction plan is currently available depending on the city of origin.
"You always look at how best to use a surface, we are looking at whether it can be implemented, and technically it will work as well," said Rikard Paulsson, transaction manager at Heimstaden, Luleå.

The original city also wants to build a five-storey house on the vacant Järpgränd land, where the fire-resistant house was located. The five-storey house could accommodate about 41 apartments, or just over double the apartments that the fire-resistant house was in space.
"We want to try the height to build in. When we breed, it's best to build the height," says Rikard Paulsson.
When will you start rebuilding the detailed plan?
– We will be back when the question of the detailed plan will be dealt with. First of all, we want to know what is the possible solution, meets Rikard Paulsson.
