Nathalie was on board the ferry: "Protection sought"

It was noon because the sea at Kvarken was getting too hard. The ferry that left Vaasa for Umeå had to turn around after the passage of a truck on the boat.

The blast occurred in the villages at 28 meters per second and it was estimated that the waves were about five meters high at sea when the ferry had to turn around.

"It was very quiet at first, I sat in the restaurant, but after about two hours, it became really serious," says Nathalie Sik, who is on the ferry, and continues:

"I had to look for shelter because chairs and tables rolled up Bottles and glasses fell into the ground and crashed, so there was a lot of noise." Garbage cans flew here in corridors, so I chose to engage me in a hallway devoid of interior materials and furniture likely to get lost, she said.

"First time"

Nathalie is from Ostrobothnia but lives in Umeå. Because she likes to travel home to love her, she is a van passenger on the ferry. But she was not like that.

– Never never. Not even close. It's the first time that it was this tough storm.

When the ship arrives at its original destination, it is planned to spend the night in Vaasa before the passengers leave with the morning ferry.

"The main thing is that you come to land with life in reserve.
