Suspicious thief seized again

As a result of a shameless shock in the summer, pieces of what are called funeral costumes were stolen from the cathedral. The items date from the 17th century and are valued at 65 million SEK.

The 26-year-old was arrested shortly after the discovery of ceremonial items in a trash can on a car in Åkersberga. He was released after a detention proceeding in the district court, but the prosecutor appealed the district court decision and a new hearing will be held tomorrow at the Svea Court of Appeal.

A 22-year-old man has already been charged

The suspicions of the 26-year-old are weaker and the prosecutor has, instead of a flagrant theft, suspicions of receipt.

In the past, a 22-year-old man was charged with theft and another man suspected of being arrested in connection with the return of the ceremonial pieces.
