Additional troubles occurred immediately after the launch of the gasoline bomb. Among other things, a burning Bengal was thrown directly onto Ajax's lap. The match delegates quickly decided that the match would be played once security was assured.
Just before, Matthijs de Ligt, the star of Ajax, had come on the spot and had tried to calm the fans.
