After the uprising – Esa Teittinen receives a million damages

Esa Teittinen was sentenced in 2010 to 15 years in prison for the murder of a friend found dead in a bathtub in 2009, despite the lack of technical evidence and the fact that the police had not conducted any Investigation of the crime scene. The DN examination of the investigation into the death of the man showed that it had significant deficiencies.

Supreme Court granted Esa Teittinen the right to speak from March 2018 and was finally released in August, after eight years in prison. In total, Esa Teittinen was arrested and arrested for eight years and three months.

Justice Chancellor JK announced Thursday that Esa Teittinen would receive SEK 8,250,000 in compensation for the suffering suffered and one million less-perceived. Esa Teittinen claimed compensation totaling SEK 25 million, including SEK 21 million for suffering.

Esa Teittinen's attorney, Marko Tuhkanen, told Dagens Juridik that he felt the amount of compensation was too low and that he felt he had not taken into account account what he describes as "abuses" committed against the state.

– The police fabricated evidence and hidden evidence that was to their benefit – JK did not even address them in the assessment of compensation, which is bad, in my opinion. This is a major violation to which the state has been a victim, Tuhkanen told Dagens Juridik.
