Several new cases of bird flu have been discovered in Blekinge. These are not the first cases – in winter, it was discovered that an eagle in Blekinge had contracted bird flu, reports P4 Blekinge.

The virus, which is not dangerous to humans, is not usually fatal to birds and is found naturally in wild birds. However, the County Administrative Board is urging animal owners to be more vigilant because the virus can infect domestic poultry, writes this authority on its website.

The Swedish Board of Agriculture will not increase the level of protection due to detected cases.
